Articles 118 to 494 of the Turkish Civil Code No. 4721 contain family law provisions. This book, titled "Family Law", constitutes the third volume of the Civil Law book series. This book was primarily designed to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students. Since Turkish family law, which conceras every walk of life in society, addresses not only Turkish citizens residing in Türkiye but al-so those living abroad, as well as foreigners engaged with Turkish law, plain language has been employed throughout the book. in addi-tion, court decisions are included in order to be useful to international judicial practitioners and academics, especially those specializing in comparative law. The subjects covered in the book are handled by taking into ac-count the systematics of the Turkish Civil Code. For this purpose, is-sues specifıc to family law such as the concept of family and the im-portance of family, the principles governing family law, engagement, marriage, divorce, spouses' rights and obligations, property regimes in marriage, parent-child relationship, family community, guardianship are explained in plain language and as simple as possible. This book is a direct translation of the Family Law book published in Turkish into English. Res. Asst. M. Harun KILIÇ contributed sig-nifıcant efforts to translating this book into English. Accordingly, this book is published as a collaborative work.
